Ocho Rios

Ocho Rios tranlated from the Spanish means, “eight rivers”.  Also boasting a variety variety of hotel and resort accommodations it is especially noted for spectacular waterfalls, working plantations and beautiful tropical gardens. Some of the favorite tourist excursions which may be visited from this tropical destination are Fern Gully encompassing some of the 500 Ferns grown in Jamaica, Dunn’s River Falls, and the Chukka Cove Equestrian Center. “Golden Eye” home of the movie character James Bond is a private residence located in Ocho!(No it’s not open to the public.) Like the other islands of the Caribbean, Proof of Citizenship is required when leaving and re-entering the United states so don’t forget to obtain a your passport in plenty of time (best 4 months a head)before your desired vacation departure. If using an existing passport, different countries have different requirements about not using a passport with only six months or less left before expiration.
